Mission Impossible: Liverpool’s final reckoning?

Does anybody know if Tom Cruise is available tonight?

I mean, Liverpool may well need him up top if they are to get themselves out of the European mess they have found themselves in.

He wouldn’t need to jump off of mountains or onto buildings, just score a hat-trick against one of the best teams we have seen this century. Not a hard task, really.

I guess what I am trying to say is Liverpool need a miracle tonight.

Yes, I know they are only two goals down to PSG, following a dismal night in Paris last week, so what I’m saying sounds dramatic. But trust me, if you’ve watched them this season, you’ll know that progressing past the Parisians tonight is almost an impossible job.

But like Hot Chocolate, do they believe in miracles? The second leg of this quarter-final is being played at Anfield, and well, as we very well know, special things can happen in that stadium on European nights.

This Liverpool side will need Anfield at its magical best if they are to have any chance of turning this tie around and making it into the semi-finals, though.

Can they produce another miraculous comeback in this competition?

They can dream, I guess.
