Learn more about upcoming UK & EU steel measures and how they will affect your business
From 1 July 2026, the United Kingdom (UK) and European Union (EU) will introduce new controls on steel imports. Invest NI is hosting a webinar to help businesses understand what these changes mean and how they could affect day to day operations.
The new measures will reduce the volume of steel that can be imported tariff free and apply 50% tariffs to imports above set quota levels. These changes could have implications for costs, sourcing decisions, and supply chains.
Northern Ireland businesses that import steel or use steel in manufacturing will need to consider these changes in the context of the Windsor Framework and Northern Ireland’s unique position at the interface of the UK and EU trading systems.
