President Donald Trump’s use of Truth Social to share his thoughts has exploded in the last month with many posts coming in the early morning hours, an analysis has found.
In fact, the president posted on Truth Social 565 times in April, according to the Daily Beast. That amounts to about 18 posts a day from the commander-in-chief, with a third happening overnight. The total is also more than double the 250 times he posted in April 2018 during his first term in the White House.
Trump’s posts over the last month have stirred up controversy, including one of an AI image depicting him as Jesus, another photoshop of him threatening Iran and posts criticizing the 2020 election.
They come as Trump has been pictured with his eyes closed at meetings and press events.
It’s unclear if Trump has made all the posts on social media, or if some have come from Natalie Harp, who is an executive assistant to the president, but also known to help with his social media accounts.

The Independent has reached out to the White House for comment about the posting spree. White House spokesman Davis Ingle defended the posts to the Daily Beast saying America loves them.
“President Trump is the most transparent and accessible President in American history to the media, and his return to the White House saved the legacy media from going out of business,” Ingle told the outlet. “The press knows that they can’t get enough of Trump, and the American people appreciate hearing his first-hand insights on topics of importance to our country.”
One of Trump’s most controversial posts last month came at 2:49 a.m. on April 13 when the president posted an image of himself as a Jesus-like figure. The image showed Trump in a white robe, laying his hands on the head of a man in a bed. He was surrounded by heavenly light and patriotic imagery. The post was immediately met with outrage from both sides of the political aisle.
“This should be deleted immediately,” wrote Sean Feucht, a Christian activist who is partnering with the Trump administration for events related to America’s 250th birthday. “There’s no context where this is acceptable.”
Trump tried to defend the post that was later deleted from his account.
“I did post it and I thought it was me as a doctor and had to do with Red Cross,” Trump told reporters. “It’s supposed to be me as a doctor, making people better. And I do make people better. I make people a lot better.”
Trump’s spree posting was also noted on April 17 when the president started posting around 8:40 p.m. and made 27 posts until the early morning hours. He made eight posts after 1 a.m. on April 18 and then resumed again at 7 a.m.
On the night of April 18, Trump posted six times about the 2020 election claiming it was stolen and undocumented migrants helped contribute to Joe Biden’s vote totals. There is no evidence that the 2020 election was stolen from Trump.
Then, on April 29, Trump posted at 4 a.m. and appeared to threaten to blow up Iran. ‘No More Mr. Nice Guy’ the president wrote alongside an image of him holding an automatic rifle in front of explosions.

The Daily Beast’s analysis found that Trump posted more on the weekends. There was just one weekend night, April 4, when the president did not post.
Many of Trump’s posts came before 1 a.m. or after 7 a.m., which the president has said is his typical sleeping schedule.
However, since returning to the White House, Trump has been spotted with his eyes closed at meetings and public functions. That, tied with his late-night posts, has raised questions about his mental fitness.
During a December cabinet meeting, Trump was seen closing his eyes as his team addressed their accomplishments. Some criticized the President but Fox News host Laura Ingram rushed to defend him.
“We all know that he doesn’t sleep, you know, I’m not a big sleeper either. So, you know, on occasion, I close my eyes if someone is talking for too long, I admit it. But, big deal. I mean, the results speak for themselves,” she said.
“What President Trump does on a daily basis, if you sleep three hours or four hours a night, you’re probably going to close your eyes, whether you are 79 or 49. I don’t think that matters.”
