Kimi Antonelli is on pole position for the Monaco Grand Prix ahead of Max Verstappen.

A new men’s champion will be crowned at Roland Garros as Alexander Zverev takes on Flavio Cobolli in Paris.

Olympic hero Keely Hodgkinson is in action at the Diamond League meeting in Stockholm.

Here is a guide to what is happening in the sporting world on Sunday and where you can catch the action in the UK.

Can Ant deck Russell?

George Russell’s world championship bid suffered another setback as Kimi Antonelli stormed to pole position for the Monaco Grand Prix.

Antonelli, who has won the last four races, danced his way around Formula One’s famed streets in the principality to beat Red Bull’s Max Verstappen to top spot by just 0.043 seconds.

Russell will start a distant sixth – 0.394 sec slower than his Mercedes team-mate – with Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc third and fourth respectively for Ferrari.

Verstappen’s team-mate Isack Hadjar lines up from fifth with Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris set to start McLaren’s 1,000th race from seventh and eighth.

The race is on Sky Sports F1 at 12.30pm.

Zverev and Cobolli go for title

At the French Open, German second seed Alexander Zverev is in his fourth grand slam final, while Italian world number 14 Flavio Cobolli will compete in his first.

One of them will become the first men’s grand slam singles champion not called Jannik, Carlos or Novak since 2022.

Zverev is a red-hot favourite to win a first major title, but Cobolli is well rested after compatriot Matteo Arnaldi’s shock withdrawal ahead of their semi-final due to a viral illness.

Coverage begins on TNT Sports 1 at 10am.

The 24-year-old Olympic champion broke the world indoor 800m record in February and hopes to beat Jarmila Kratochvilova’s 43-year-old outdoor world record this season

Live coverage of the meeting is on BBC Two from 4pm.

What else is happening on Sunday?

There is plenty of golf throughout the day, staring with LIV Golf, Andalucia on TNT Sports 4 and the KLM Open on Sky Sports Golf, both beginning at  11.30am.

The PGA Tour Memorial Tournament is on Sky Sports Golf at 4.30pm and the US Women’s Open starts on Sky Sports Main Event at 8pm..
