World No 1 snooker star Judd Trump has alleged his social media has been hacked after an explicit video was posted on his Instagram account.
On Sunday, a video of a male holding his appendage while in a hotel room was posted to the 36-year-old’s story, to the bewilderment of his 325,000 followers.
The post has since been deleted, but screenshots and recordings of the video have circulated on various social media sites.
Trump managed to wrestle back control of his account on Monday morning to claim that he had been hacked.
‘Just a quick note to let everyone know that my Instagram account was hacked,’ the snooker star wrote on Instagram. ‘Any images or content posted recently were not posted by me and do not represent me in any way.
‘Please disregard them while I work to regain control of the account. Thank you for your understanding.’
Trump is the world No1 snooker player and has claimed that his social media was hacked
Trump and his representatives have been approached by Daily Mail Sport for further comment.
The 2019 world champion was previously in a relationship with figure skater Maisy Ma, but it is believed the pair split earlier this year after two years of navigating long-distance.
Trump relocated to Dubai from the UK in January 2024 but also frequently spent time in Hong Kong with Ma, before their break-up.
Speaking about it at the start of the year, he cited that the decision was based on the better weather and snooker facilities on offer.
However, after the conflict in the Middle East between the United States of America and Iran began in late February, Trump initially took himself away from Dubai.
‘I had to leave [Dubai],’ Trump told The Sun. ‘So we went to Bangkok. Yeah, it’s a bit up in the air at the moment really. I don’t really think I can go back at the moment, just in case I get stuck there.
‘[I’m] just kind of looking for somewhere else to live at the moment. At the moment I’ll just base myself in Bangkok. There’s some good practice there. Very well looked after. It’s just all a bit play it day-by-day at the moment.
‘My brother was stuck in Dubai for a little bit so that wasn’t good. Luckily he’s got out now and hopefully things turn around. I managed to practice in Thailand and dedicate myself like I normally would. Just trying to make the best of a bad situation.
‘It’s just difficult at the moment because you don’t know where I’m going to be living. Every day is different. Just living in a hotel for the last few weeks really. It’s not nice to be not at home, not knowing what you’re going to do. I don’t know what I’m going to do after this and stuff like that.
A recent social media posts suggests that Trump has moved back to Dubai after previously fleeing the conflict
‘It’s just play it day by day, trying my best when I’m out there playing snooker. Away from the table, just take the positives.’
However, Trump recently posted pictures of himself sitting on a sports car in Dubai with the caption ‘back home in Dubai’.
A picture posted to his Instagram as recently as two days ago also suggests that the snooker player is back in the UAE.
In April, Trump was on the end of a huge upset as he was knocked out of the World Championships by Hossein Vafaei in a final-frame decider.
