- Two Richmond stars squared off in a heated training ground brawl on Monday
- It comes as the Tigers are attempting to llift themselves following a dismal 2025
Tempers flared at Punt Road on Monday after two Richmond stars were embroiled in a heated training ground scrap.
Footage from 7News’s evening broadcast appeared to show Rhyan Mansell pinning two-time premiership winner Jayden Short to the ground during a training session.
The outlet claims that the exchange was sparked after Short had caught Mansell, 24, with a high shot in a previous contest.
While the wrestle lasted for a few moments, the pair both returned to their feet and bumped shoulders, before appearing to continue with their session.
The Tigers have been hard in pre-season training in recent days and have conducted several intra-club matches on the Punt Road Oval as they attempt to turn around their fortunes during the 2025 season, having finished at the bottom rung of the AFL ladder last season.
It is, though, not the first time in recent weeks that we’ve seen two players from the same club square off in a training ground fracas.

Swans coach Dean Cox had to step in to separate brothers Chad and Corey Warner on Friday after the pair had squared off on the pitch during a pre-season training session.
That fracas came after older brother Chad had landed a heavy hit on Corey during a match simulation.
