Sam Darnold is battling an oblique injury just two days out from this weekend’s playoff showdown between the Seahawks and the 49ers.
Darnold led Seattle to the No 1 seed in the NFC in a fine first season for Mike Macdonald’s team.
But on Thursday the Seahawks added Darnold to the injury report. He is now listed as questionable for Saturday’s clash with San Francisco at Lumen Field.
A clip posted to social media showed the quarterback running on to the practice field using a massage gun on his side.
Darnold later revealed that, after noticing an issue, he eased off in practice and underwent some treatment.
The 28-year-old attempted to allay fears over his status for this weekend, telling reporters Thursday that he is confident he will play.

‘I felt a little something on my oblique, I just didn’t want to push it – it wasn’t the day to push it. That was it,’ he said.
‘So I just came inside, got some rehab and I feel like I will be ready to go for Saturday.’
Darnold guided the Seahawks to the top of the NFC West after they won 14 of their 17 regular season games.
That was enough to earn Seattle a bye to the second round of the playoffs, where they will face San Francisco following the 49ers’ win over the Eagles.
