WNBA star Angel Reese is making a major move into acting by joining the cast for season two of ‘The Hunting Wives’ – the show deemed by some to be Netflix’s sexiest show ever.
The 23-year-old Reese, who plays for the Chicago Sky and is known in basketball for her rivalry with Caitlin Clark, has made no secret of how much she enjoyed the first series of the show.
But it has now emerged that the basketballer will actually have a part to play in the second series, with filming underway,
Netflix announced the news on Tuesday, saying: ‘Angel Reese joins the cast of The Hunting Wives in the co-starring role of “Trainer Barbie”. Season 2 is now in production!’
Reese has, throughout her college and WNBA career, adopted different ‘Barbie’ nicknames. When she played for LSU at college, she was known as ‘Bayou Barbie’ and when she was drafted by the Sky, the nicknamed changed to ‘Chi Barbie’.
And it now seems that she has another nickname although it’s not known just yet exactly what her role involves in the new series.

The first season of the raunchy Netflix show proved hugely popular with viewers
Series 1 of the show starred Brittany Snow and Malin Akerman and focused on a wealthy group of glamorous women in Texas, some of whom were having affairs with each other.
A murder occurrs within the group of friends and the first series ended on a dramatic cliffhanger.
After watching the series, Reese posted on X: ‘Sooooo will there be a season 2 or more episodes for The Hunting Wives because i’m not satisfied with how that ended…’
She had also posted: ‘Nglllll The Hunting Wives is a CRAZYYYY but good watch.’
The posts didn’t go unnoticed by series creator Rebecca Cutter, who thanked her for tuning in.
Reese asked Cutter to ‘just let me know if you need me for Season 2’ and it appears Cutter took her up on the offer.
Reese shared pictures onto her Instagram story on Tuesday of her on set to film for the show, dressed in athletic clothing.
The WNBA player, who in October walked the runway at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show in New York, has made a big effort in recent years to grow her brand away from just basketball.

As well as modelling and now acting, she also runs her own podcast, called ‘Unapologetically Angel’.
But as life goes from strength-to-strength away from basketball, Reese will be hoping for better luck on the basketball court this summer once the WNBA season starts up again.
Her Chicago team ended 2025 with a league-worst 10-34 record and there were rumors that Reese could even look to be traded. She has, however, implied she wants to stay in Chicago.
