Prince William ‘will find a way’ to watch his beloved Aston Villa play in next week’s Europa League cup final in Turkey, sources say.

The Prince of Wales, 43, attended the side’s semi-final second leg at Villa Park last week, where he celebrated at full-time after their 4-0 win overturned a 1-0 first-leg deficit against Nottingham Forest.

The game – which marks Aston Villa reaching their first major European tournament since 1982 – saw the future King clap enthusiastically and celebrate with those seated nearby.

He also took part in the post-match singing as he was caught belting out Neil Diamond’s 1969 Sweet Caroline with other supporters by the TNT Sports cameras.

And while it is yet to be confirmed if he will be at next Wednesday’s match against German side Freiburg in Istanbul, insiders have revealed he is highly likely to attend.

A win in Istanbul would give the Prince’s team their first major trophy in 30 years.

A Kensington Palace source said: ‘Did you see his face last week?

‘He will find a way.’

Prince William’s raw emotion was visible as Aston Villa scored a third goal against Nottingham Forest on Thursday

Rumours of the Prince’s attendance come as Aston Villa’s manager, Unai Emery, revealed Wills joined post-match celebrations with the team on Thursday night.

Mr Emery said the Prince of Wales was ‘in the dressing room’ with himself and the players.

And on their winning result, Mr Emery told The Telegraph the Prince is ‘so happy as well’.

And despite the late-night celebrations, William still turned up at Buckingham Palace the next morning for royal duties.

He co-hosted a garden party with his wife, the Princess of Wales, on behalf of King Charles.

It was there, he admitted, he was tired after a late night and had ‘bags under the eyes’.

Catherine, 44, also confessed to letting the couple’s children, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8, stay up late to watch Aston Villa’s victory.

She said the children ‘all make so much noise,’ while watching football, adding that they wished to go to the game but ‘we let them stay up and watch it’.

The Prince of Wales is the patron of the Football Association and has followed Aston Villa since childhood.
