Former Buffalo Bills star Shane Conlan sparked concern among fans after he found it hard to announce the team’s pick in the NFL Draft.

Conlan, 62, was one of a number of NFL legends invited to announce picks made by their former teams during the second night of action in Pittsburgh.

And he strolled onto the stage and up to the podium early on Friday night when his beloved Bills made their selection at No. 35.

But Conlan struggled to read off of the card that was provided to him and made hard work of his speaking duties, even getting the year wrong.

‘With the thirty-fiveth pick in the… 2016 NFL Draft,’ he said before announcing T.J. Parker’s name.

Conlan’s moment of madness on the NFL Draft stage caused unease among fans watching at home and they quickly took to social media to reveal their concern.

One commented: ‘Shane Conlan was in over his head making the selection.’

A second added: ‘Shane Conlan didn’t get any of his lines right at all there.’

Another speculated: ‘Is Shane Conlan drunk? He really stumbled through announcing that pick.

‘Shane Conlan didn’t sound too good,’ one concerned viewer pointed out.

Others asked if Conlan was okay, while some said he ‘sounded rough’.

Conlan was the Bills’ first-round selection back in 1987. That year, the linebacker was the eighth overall pick out of Penn State after winning two national championships with the Nittany Lions in 1982 and 1986.

He played for the Bills from 1987 to 1992, earning the NFL Defensive Rookie of The Year award in 1987. Conlan was also selected to the Pro Bowl in three seasons with the Bills.

The Bills reached three Super Bowls during Conlan’s time in Buffalo but famously lost all of them. Once he left, he played three seasons with the Los Angeles/St. Louis Rams before retiring in 1995.

The Bills finally made a pick by selecting Clemson linebacker Parker after completing three trades in backing out of the first round entirely on Thursday.

At 6-foot-3 and 263 pounds, Parker was a three-year defensive lineman for the Tigers and will make the switch to outside linebacker on a Bills defense transitioning to a 3-4 scheme this season.

Buffalo entered the draft with just seven picks, and just three among the top 126 selections after trading its second-rounder to Chicago to acquire receiver DJ Moore.

They will round out Friday with the second pick of the third round, 66th overall.
