Liam Stewart, son of rock and roll legend Sir Rod, has lived in the shadow of his famous dad, and in recent days, his troubled sibling.
This week, Sean Stewart admitted himself to rehab in another attempt to deal with his reoccurring addiction issues after his famous family staged an intervention.
The party-loving offspring of Sir Rod, 44, is currently holed away at the $80,000-a-month Cliffside Malibu rehabilitation facility where his close friend Scott Disick once sought treatment for his own issues.
It comes months after Sean split from his wife Jody Weintraub and started dating Charlie Sheen’s ex, Julia Stambler.
But the younger Liam has taken a very different career path to his brother and indeed his father.
Liam has achieved impressive feats in Ice Hockey and currently turns out for Milton Keynes Lightning in the NIHL, the second-tier of Britain’s professional ice hockey leagues.

He’s been with the outfit since 2019 and boasts one of the best goals per game ratios in the club’s history.
But his most notable achievement to date came on the international scene when he represented Great Britain at the Ice Hockey Division 1B World Championship in Northern Ireland in 2017.
Stewart and his team-mates took home the gold medal, with the 30-year-old scoring twice on their route to glory. Liam is the fifth of Sir Rod’s eight children and one of two children he shares with ex-wife Rachel Hunter.
He was raised in Los Angeles and spent his time playing for a number of clubs in the United States before settling in the UK. In 2018 Liam had a brief spell with Queenstown based side Skycity Stampade where he made 24 appearances.
In 2019, he told ITV how his dad keeps an eye of his achievements now he’s playing in the UK.
‘Obviously he’s interested because I play now, but I grew up playing football,’ he said. ‘I was going between both and I you could say I kind of came to a point in my life where I had to choose because I couldn’t keep doing both and I guess I just chose hockey and it’s worked out so far.
‘When he’s not touring he tries to keep up with my career. He emails me here and there but he’s a pretty busy guy so if he can come down and watch me he will but he does keep in contact a lot.’
Liam’s accomplishments in sport are in stark contrast to his elder sibling Sean, whose substance abuse issues have once again come to light.

‘Sean is in rehab for addiction,’ an insider told DailyMail.com. ‘He’s had a long history of substance abuse, and he decided to get help when he saw that he was falling off the deep end again.
‘There was a family intervention because they were worried. They are all able to see when Sean is sober and when he is not.’
The insider said Rod Stewart is proud of his son for acknowledging that he needs help and checking himself in without being forced.
The expensive facility boasts stunning views of the Pacific Ocean, an outdoor pool and a gym, while patients are treated to chefs providing an organic healthy menu and a turn-down service in the rooms, each of which is equipped with a huge television.
Yoga, walks, equine therapy, acupuncture and group counselling are also offered.
Sean has spoken openly about his battles with addiction in the past, and once claimed being the eldest son of rock royalty was a ‘curse and a hindrance’.
Sean previously revealed he was ‘around 13’ and a student at Beverly Hills High School when he first started drinking. He later transitioned to harder drugs including ecstasy and heroin.
