The score on the door
So the first leg of this one was in mid-January at St James’ Park, and, as I said, City ran out 2-0 winners.
That’s a cracking result, by the way. Newcastle are a serious side at home, and it’s not as if City have been flying of late. Now the Magpies have to go to the Etihad tonight and try and turn it around.
Antoine Semenyo scored his first goal for the club that night, and, as Eddie Howe’s men pushed for an equaliser that would have put them on level footing going into tonight, Rayan Cherki made it two to really swing the tide into City’s favour.
It does kind of feel like this one is done, I must admit. But you do indeed never know!
