Former NCAA gymnast and social media star Livvy Dunne revealed that she completed her first in-person acting audition – and shared why she did not get the part.
Dunne has stepped away from the world of competing in sports, now moving in the direction of social media, endorsements and – it seems – acting.
In an interview for the cover story on the April edition of Boardroom, Dunne told the outlet that she auditioned for the popular HBO dark comedy series ‘The White Lotus’ for its fourth season.
She admitted that she ‘felt like I was an athlete again’ – but also admitted why she didn’t get the part.
‘I was obviously a bit nervous at first. I was like, “Oh man, what if I forget the lines.” Pause. I’ve done things way harder than this in my life. Whoa. I flipped on a beam in front of 13,500 people,’ Dunne told Boardroom co-founder Rich Kleiman.
‘It’s different. I think I would rather have done a backflip in front of the casting director, but I mean, I went there, I put it all out there. It was my first audition.

But Dunne admitted that she was ‘nervous at first’ when trying out for her first ever role
She’s since recovered and is shooting for a role in the reboot of the 90s classic ‘Baywatch’
‘I didn’t know what to expect, and it was honestly really fun. And I’ve done a few more auditions since. Not in person, but that one was pretty cool. I did enjoy doing it in person. It felt like I was an athlete again.’
Dunne has since landed a role in a reboot of the beach lifeguard drama series ‘Baywatch’ and admitted to completing ‘lots of auditions’ and working with an acting coach.
‘Naturally, I gravitate towards things that are more creative,’ Dunne said. ‘My family is quite creative. I come from a family of entrepreneurs. I would love to dive into acting.
‘I’ve been doing lots of auditions and rehearsing scripts and getting used to that lifestyle, which has been amazing because it’s something I’ve been passionate about ever since I was in college.
‘I couldn’t find the balance between being a student athlete and working with brands. So it’s something I took on after college and it’s been so much fun. I have my mom standing there helping me memorize the scripts. I have an amazing acting coach.’
The reboot of the 1990s television classic is coming to Fox this fall for the 2026-27 television season.
It won’t be the first time Dunne has shown herself off in a bathing suit for the masses as her modeling career has landed her in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition multiple times.
But the former gymnast isn’t completely detaching herself from sports – having recently acquired equity in NOBULL, a fitness company helmed by Tom Brady.
