Neil Sedaka, the legendary singer who passed away in Los Angeles in February, died of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.

The death certificate, which was obtained by The Post, stated kidney failure also contributed to his death.

The certificate revealed he was embalmed at the Hollywood Funeral home and buried at Beth Olam Cemetery in LA on March 3.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease is caused by the build up of plaque — which can consist of fats, cholesterol and other substances — in artery walls, narrowing them and restricting blood flow. Complications can include a heart attack or stroke

Sedaka, who’s best known for his No. 1 hits in the ’60s and ’70s — including “Love Will Keep Us Together” and “Calendar Girl” — was 86 years old.

He died on Feb. 27 after he was hospitalized in Los Angeles, TMZ reported at the time. While he was initially recovering, his family later shared in a statement that he had died.

“Our family is devastated by the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Neil Sedaka,” the statement read.

“A true rock and roll legend, an inspiration to millions, but most importantly, at least to those of us who were lucky enough to know him, an incredible human being who will be deeply missed.”

He was nominated for five Grammys between 1959 and 1977, and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1983.

He had been married to wife Leba Strassberg since 1962.

The couple shared two children — daughter Dara, a 62-year-old vocalist, and son Marc, a 59-year-old screenwriter.

A number of A-list musicians mourned his death, including Michael Bublé, who commented on Instagram, “A genius. A gentlemen. A hero. How lucky are we to have had your light shared with us.
Have no doubt a kingdom was waiting for you 💔.”

David Foster also commented, “A giant even amongst the giants!! He proved melody is king!!”
