Summary
UK-registered small and medium enterprises (SMEs) can apply for up to £5,000 to explore and access Horizon Europe collaborative research and innovation opportunities.
Eligibility criteria
To qualify for this scheme, applicants must
- Be a UK-registered SME.
- Businesses must be trading and not a holding or dormant company.
- Ensure the support to be provided will not exceed their rolling three-year Minimal Financial Assistance Allowance.
- Identify a specific Horizon Europe Pillar 2 or Pillar 3 call and the topic to which they apply.
- Pillar 3 applicants must be part of a collaborative Horizon Europe project.
- Work with a UK National Contact Point and engage with Innovate UK Business Growth.
- Submit applications by 17 January 2025 and claims by 17 February 2025.

This scheme aims to support businesses in developing a consortium and applying to Horizon Europe.
A similar scheme is available for academic researchers through the British Academy. This is focused on supporting researchers to develop proposals for Pillar 2 of Horizon Europe.
