Newlyweds Donald Trump Jr. and Bettina Trump have shared a loved-up behind-the-scenes video of their wedding last weekend that President Donald Trump couldn’t attend.
Don. Jr and Bettina Trump, formerly Anderson, tied the knot in the Bahamas, with the 48-year-old gushing about his new bride in the social media post.
“The night I married my best friend, my love, and my forever,” he captioned his Instagram post on Friday night. “Bettina, you have brought so much peace, joy, and light into my life.”
The president was forced to miss his eldest son’s wedding because of the Iran war, he said.
“While I very much wanted to be with my son, Don Jr., and the newest member of the Trump Family, his soon to be wife, Bettina, circumstances pertaining to Government, and my love for the United States of America, do not allow me to do so,” Trump posted on Truth Social a day before the wedding last week. “I feel it is important for me to remain in Washington, D.C., at the White House during this important period of time. Congratulations to Don and Bettina!”

In the newly released video of the wedding, which took place on the luxurious private island of Little Pipe Cay, Don. Jr was seen preparing for his nuptials in a tan suit. He arrived at the intimate ceremony on a golf buggy.
Other members of the Trump family featured in the video, helping the couple get ready for the big day. Don. Jr’s sister Ivanka Trump and his sister-in-law Lara Trump were seen arriving at the chapel with the bride. Inside the chapel, Don. Jr’s children, Kai, Tristan, and Spencer, stood in front while Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner were seated a couple of rows behind.
Close-up shots in the video showed candles etched with the words: “Love Trumps all.”
The footage ended with a shot of the newlyweds walking down the beach as their guests held sparklers.
Part of the reason Trump was not going to attend was to keep the couple’s ceremony as private as possible, sources previously told CNN. Extra security measures were put in place after the location of the wedding was leaked, and the guest list was fewer than 50 people, the network reported.
GOP Rep. Anna Paulina Luna was among the well-wishers commenting on the video. “So beautiful,” she wrote. Katie Miller, the wife of deputy White House chief of staff Stephen Miller, also commented, “Beautiful.”
Trump said that Don. Jr had wanted him there, but the president couldn’t swing it.
“He’d like me to go,” Trump said. “I said, ‘You know, this is not good timing for me. I have a thing called Iran and other things.’”
The wedding marks Don Jr.’s second marriage. He was previously married to Vanessa Trump, and the couple has five children together. He was also engaged to Kimberly Guilfoyle, who is now serving as Ambassador to Greece, but the wedding was called off.
He began dating Bettina sometime in 2024 and the couple got engaged in December 2025. The president announced the couple’s engagement at a White House holiday party, CNN reported.
