Amid rumors about what caused his engagement to end, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is gaining support from a pair of longtime NFL sideline reporters.
The stunning end to his relationship with fiancée Sarah Jane Ramos has the internet abuzz with speculation as to what may have caused the breakup between the couple who share two daughters.
Rumors suggest that Ramos found the Dallas star man messaging other women on a secret social media account.
But amid the alleged infidelity, broadcasters Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson sent out a message of support to Prescott.
‘He is a fantastic person on and off the field, he’s a class act,’ Thompson said in response to a listener’s query about Prescott’s negative public perception.
She continued: ‘He has been through hell and back in his personal life. He’s lost his brother, he’s lost his mom. He is a constant champion of people in the mental health space in everything from cancer prevention to early detection. To answer your question… I have no idea [why people hate him].’

Andrews offered up a simple explanation: ‘He plays for the Cowboys.’
Thompson continued, ‘It’s not warranted, the hate is not warranted, but yes, Erin brings up a great point: he plays for a team that people love to hate. It’s always going to come with criticism, but I think Dak also understands that.
‘It’s just that the people that are gonna hate him don’t have any real reason to. They’re just trying to be contrarians.’
She concluded: ‘I’m just always gonna defend Dak, because I think he’s a wonderful person and he is. That locker room will tell you he’s a wonderful teammate.
Andrews, who spends plenty of time in Dallas with Fox Sports, described herself as ‘basically Dak’s older sister.’
‘I’ve been covering since he took over that job his rookie season, I’ve seen him go through hell and back. He’s a guy I get very defensive about because he’s so lovely,’ Andrews continued.
‘Dak is the kind of guy [where you] know everything he stands for off the field. … I did a charity event with St. Jude and there was an anonymous donation on Instagram, but you can see who did it.’
Andrews described him as a ‘solid dude’ before Thompson invited the listener who asked the question to ‘sit with us and we’ll wave the Dak Flag.’
Ramos resurfaced on social media last week for the first time since the split from Prescott
Daily Mail revealed an email sent after Ramos and Prescott held their bachelor/bachelorette party in Italy that announced the cancellation of their wedding about one month out
Ramos and Prescott sensationally broke up just one month before they were set to be married.
The Daily Mail revealed the contents of an email sent out to wedding guests announcing that the ceremony had been called off.
The pair mostly went radio-silent on social media before Ramos shared three pictures on Instagram last week with her two children.
No captions were placed on the image and no further statement has been made.
Initial speculation suggested that the split came about over Ramos’ refusal to sign a prenup with the Cowboys’ $240million man. But those rumors have since been cast aside.
