Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice will be conducting his rehab from a surgery in jail after being placed behind bars for violating his probation.

On Tuesday, it was revealed that Rice had tested positive for marijuana in a drug test – violating the terms of his probation and leading him to serve a 30 day sentence in prison.

The sentence was handed down due to Rice’s reckless driving causing a multi-car crash on a Dallas highway in 2024.

Hours after that announcement, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Rice underwent surgery one week ago to ‘remove loose debris’ in his knee.

The debris was ‘causing inflammation’ in the area. The receiver is now expected to be sidelined for two months as he recovers, according to Schefter.
