Jack Draper has barely played a competitive tennis match this year, but when the British No 1 does step up his return he will be sporting a new look.

Draper has endured an injury-plagued six months since being forced to withdraw from the US Open with an arm injury.

The 24-year-old did play in Great Britain’s Davis Cup 4-0 victory over Norway earlier this month, recording a 6-2, 6-2 win over Viktor Durasovic in their singles match-up.

That encounter saw the left-hander sport his usual his brown crop fringe. However, his future endeavours on court will yield a new image.

And that is because he has shaved his hair off, sharing it on Instagram on Valentine’s Day, sporting a low buzz cut instead.

Draper’s new haircut follows the world No 12 getting a new tattoo too. Eagle-eyed fans noticed it when he took a plunge at a Norwegian outdoor sauna ahead of the Davis Cup tie.

The tattoo is on the right side of his lower midriff, with some of it hidden by his shorts, although it was unclear what exactly it was.

Some fans speculated it was something to do with a flame, and it adds to the two other pieces of artwork he has on his body.

These include a lightning bolt on the outside of his left arm alongside the words ‘someone said’ on his left bicep.

Draper’s latest return to tennis comes after he enjoyed the best year of his career in 2025 as he rose to fourth in the world rankings and won the Indian Wells title.

‘I think last year definitely started off amazingly well,’ Draper said when reflecting on 2025.

‘The second half was extremely challenging, but I took a lot of belief and confidence from the first half of the year and what I achieved. I’ve kept that in mind and I want to be competing right at the top of the game.

‘It’s going to be a bit of a challenge and a journey to get back to where I was, just because I’ve been out for such a long time.

‘At the same time I’m constantly getting better and I’m constantly improving still. I hope I get to show that sooner more than later.’
