  • David Warner was charged with drink-driving
  • He allegedly blew twice the legal limit

Test cricket star David Warner has been charged with mid-range drink-driving.

Warner, 39, was allegedly busted during random breath tests on Malabar Rd in Maroubra, east Sydney, about 5.30pm on Easter Sunday.

NSW Police officers allegedly saw a van stop short of the testing site and tested its driver, who allegedly returned a 0.104 result – more than twice the legal blood alcohol limit.

Warner was arrested and taken to Maroubra Police Station. He was issued a court attendance notice to appear at Downing Centre on May 7, the Daily Telegraph reported.

The Australian opening batsman represented Australia for 15 years having played in more than 100 Tests, one-day internationals and Twenty20s.

He has since retired from international cricket and now captains the Sydney Thunder in the domestic Big Bash League Twenty20.
