Bridgerton’s Adjoa Andoh praised “banging” British television as she called for more artistic subjects in the national curriculum.

Speaking to The Independent at the Television BAFTAs on Sunday (10 May), the actor said television from the UK is special as “we do “great storytelling in all its different forms”.

“British TV bangs. We’re a small island in the North Sea that’s been doing good storytelling since Shakespeare’s day.”

She also called for greater emphasis on arts-based subjects in the classroom.

“There are children who may be wonderful storytellers who maybe don’t get the chance if they have to focus on their other subjects.”
