Arsenal staff have reportedly been angered after the club offered them travel to the Champions League final for £859.

Arsenal will face holders PSG on May 30, which will be just the second time the Gunners have featured in the final of Europe’s elite club competition.

As reported by the Telegraph, members of Arsenal staff who are not working at the final have been offered one non-transferable ticket.

The club then offered chartered flight packages costing £859 and informed staff: ‘Space permitting, colleagues attending the final can opt to purchase a seat on these flights.’

The report claims multiple Arsenal employees were left ‘dismayed’ by the cost of the package, which would see a flight leave Luton on the morning of the final and return in time for a potential trophy parade on May 31.

Employees opting to make their own travel arrangements could be at risk of missing a parade, while some staff would be required to work at the event.

Some Arsenal staff have reportedly been angered by the cost of packages offered by the club to attend the Champions League final in Budapest

Around a third of staff reportedly accepted the ticket, while the remainder – who are not working around the final – have been given complimentary tickets to a screening of the final at the Emirates.

The approach contrasts with Arsenal’s opponents PSG, who offered to cover the cost of inviting all staff to the final at the Puskas Arena in Budapest.

The French giants repeated the offer made to their staff from last year’s final in Munich, where PSG earned a crushing 5-0 win over Inter Milan.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi told staff in a letter: ‘Last year, many of you had the opportunity to be in Munich to support the team during the European final.

‘It was a powerful moment that perfectly embodied the unity and sense of belonging that define our club.

‘In that same spirit, it was important to me that all employees should once again have the opportunity to be part of this final stage of our European journey.

‘We would like to invite all staff members to join the team in Budapest for this exceptional occasion.’

Arsenal are facing a crunch end to the campaign with the Gunners just two wins away from clinching their first Premier League title since 2004.

Mikel Arteta’s side are assured of winning the league if they beat both Burnley at home and Crystal Palace away.

The Gunners will then turn their attentions to the Champions League final in Hungary’s capital city.
