Diane Keaton’s daughter, Dexter, paid tribute to the icon on the first Mother’s Day since her death.
Dexter, 30, posted sweet throwback pics of the two together on Instagram Sunday, including one of her and her mom hanging out on the beach when she was a child, one on her wedding day in 2021, and one of her mom kissing her on the cheek.
Dexter wrote, “First Mother’s Day without you. I miss you more than words can say.”
“Missing her voice, her hugs, her presence, and everything that made her home 🤍,” she continued. “I love you, Mom 🤍.”
Keaton died in October 2025 of pneumonia.
Her family shared in a statement to People, “The Keaton family are very grateful for the extraordinary messages of love and support they have received these past few days on behalf of their beloved Diane, who passed away from pneumonia on October 11.”
They continued, “She loved her animals and she was steadfast in her support of the unhoused community, so any donations in her memory to a local food bank or an animal shelter would be a wonderful and much appreciated tribute to her.”
Keaton was 79 years old.
The “Annie Hall” star was a mom to Dexter, whom she adopted in 1996, and son Duke, 26, whom she adopted in 2001.
Keaton, who never married, adopted her children in her 50s and raised them on her own.
She told Ladies Home Journal of her choice, “Motherhood was not an urge I couldn’t resist. It was more like a thought I’d been thinking for a very long time. So I plunged in.”
On what would have been Keaton’s 80th birthday on Jan. 5, Dexter revealed that she and Duke got tattoos to honor their late mom.
Dexter’s tattoo says, “La Di Da,” a line from Diane’s 1977 movie “Annie Hall,” while Duke’s tattoo says, “Weird Old World,” another reference to the same film.
Actress Sarah Paulson also showed off her tattoo dedicated to Keaton on what would have been her 80th birthday, revealing she got her initials “DK” inked above her wrist.
