Jake Paul was forced to undergo a second surgery on the broken jaw he suffered during his controversial clash with Anthony Joshua.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer suffered the injury in a brutal knockout loss to the former heavyweight champion back in December.

Paul drove himself to the hospital in the wake of the loss before having surgery to fix his jaw. On Friday, however, the 29-year-old revealed he had to go back under the knife after failing to allow the injury to heal.

‘Had to get another jaw surgery,’ Paul wrote on Instagram. ‘The screws and plates were coming loose because apparently I didn’t rest for the past 2 months whaattttttttt.’

In a series of photos and videos on social media, Paul showed himself being wheeled around the hospital by his fiancee, Olympic speed skating champion Jutta Leerdam.

In Miami, Paul shocked many boxing fans after surviving five rounds against the former heavyweight champion, who entered with the ring with 25 knockouts in 28 wins.

But Paul was taken out by Joshua in the sixth round, with his jaw fractured in two places. He had surgery the following day, December 20, with teeth removed and titanium plates inserted into his jaw.

Earlier this month, his Most Valuable Promotions co-founder Nakisa Bidarian said Paul is targeting a return to the ring in 2026 – and a move back down to cruiserweight -following his defeat to Joshua.

Paul drafted in heavyweight AJ at short notice, having initially been preparing for the significantly shorter and lighter Gervonta Davis. The bout marked the YouTuber-turned-boxer’s first defeat at heavyweight level.

In recent days, however, the 29-year-old has been in Italy to watch Dutch star Leerdam in action at the Winter Olympics.

The 27-year-old claimed gold and silver medals in Milan-Cortina, becoming a star of the Games after breaking the Olympic record to win in the 1,000m. Paul, watching from the stands, burst into tears after her victory.

He has become of the richest attractions in boxing and it recently emerged that Leerdam could rake in a staggering eight-figure payday after her two-medal haul.

Leerdam is reported to have been able to make $1million (£730,000) for briefly exposing her Nike sports bra in the aftermath of the win, with the sportswear brand being just one of her numerous sponsors, which include SKIMS, Hema, and Red Bull.
