Angel Stadium in Anaheim is shutting down a section due to evidence being found of a rodent infestation, according to the California Post.

The home of the Los Angeles Angels will be cordoning off a part of the seats and will not allow fans to sit there after ‘rodent droppings’ were found.

The less-than-appealing evidence was discovered in a concession area at View Level 432, according to a retail food facility inspection report from the Orange County Public Health Services from April 22.

Excrement was found in five different locations, according to the report: adjacent to janitorial supplies, on the floor beneath storage racks, next to ‘boxes of single use articles,’ next to the water heater and near a janitorial sink.

As for where the infestation might be coming from, inspectors allegedly discovered a ‘hole greater than 1/4 inch on the ceiling.’

Health officials suspended the permit allowing the concession stand to operate and ordered it to take mitigating steps.

These include ‘eliminat[ing] all rodent activity using approved pest control methods’ as well as orders to ‘clean and sanitize all equipment surfaces, food containers, shelves and floors’ and ‘properly eliminate/seal all cracks and crevices greater than 1/4 inch to prevent vermin harborage.’

Officials will declare the stand closed ‘until all conditions warranting the closure are corrected.’

In a statement to The Post, the Angels said they ‘take great pride in delivering a high-quality fan experience at Angel Stadium, including maintaining the cleanliness of our nearly 160 concession locations’ and ‘after receiving guidance from the health department, we acted promptly with our concession partner to resolve the issue at the single stand and expect it to pass inspection and reopen in time for the upcoming homestand.’

The same section previously passed an inspection last June, according to health records.

The Angels are 12-17 on the season and are already 3.5 games back on the lead for the NL West division.

Their next homestand will be against one of the few teams in baseball who are worse than them: the New York Mets.
