Alisha Lehmann has opened up on her dating history and reflected on her relationship with a female team-mate before going out with Douglas Luiz.
The Swiss star first began dating Juventus men’s team player Luiz back in 2021, before they broke up a year later and rekindled at the start of 2024.
Since then, the couple have enjoyed a close relationship and both sealed a move from England to Italian giants Juventus during the summer window last year.
However, prior to her relationship with Luiz, Lehmann’s personal life had still been in the spotlight after she dated former Chelsea player Ramona Bachmann.
Now, in a new interview with Marca, Lehmann has reflected on her relationship with her national team-mate and gave a ‘simple’ answer about the situation.
She said: ‘It’s 2025. I think everyone can date whoever they want and be with whoever they want.

‘It’s important to open your mind and stop seeing this as a problem and instead see it as progress. Be who you are and who you want to be. Love is love. It’s simple’.
After rekindling her romance with former Aston Villa midfielder Luiz, the couple secured a move to Juventus in the summer.
Reflecting on how their moves came about, Lehmann explained: ‘I don’t know who convinced whom, it just happened’.
Elsewhere, Lehmann is running out of time to book her place at this summer’s women’s European Championship after being left out of Switzerland’s latest squad.
Lehmann, 26, who has previously been dubbed the ‘world’s sexiest footballer’, missed Switzerland’s last round of matches in February due to a thigh injury.
Switzerland boss Pia Sundhage has now named her 23-man squad for next month’s games against France and Iceland, and the 58-cap international Lehmann has not made the cut again.
Sundhage insisted there is a way back for Lehmann, but admitted her injury has hampered her cause, with the Euros in Switzerland now just three months away.
‘We want to put together the best team, maybe not with the best players,’ Sundhage said. ‘The doors are open to everyone. At the end of the day, there will be a chance for everyone.’

Lehmann and Luiz both moved from English football to Italian side Juventus in July last year
Explaining Lehmann’s absence, Sundhage added: ‘She was injured and hasn’t played for Juventus in a long time. She needs time to show that she belongs in the team.’
Switzerland have been placed in Group A for Euro 2025, alongside Norway, Finland and Iceland. Their first game will be against Norway on July 2, and it is far from guaranteed that Lehmann will be part of the squad.
Lehmann joined Juventus alongside her boyfriend Douglas Luiz last summer. But she has only played 702 minutes across all competitions, scoring twice.
Luiz has also struggled in his first season with the men’s team, failing to score a goal in any of his 22 appearances.
