France legend Zinedine Zidane has broken the internet after being caught on camera looking thoroughly unimpressed by his son’s performance against Lionel Messi.
The iconic midfielder was spotted in the stands during a group-stage clash, watching his goalkeeper son, Luca Zidane, endure a brutal evening on the pitch.
Luca, who plays internationally for Algeria, was powerless to stop a rampant Messi as the Argentine maestro sliced through the defense to claim a spectacular hat-trick.
As the third goal flew into the back of the net, TV cameras immediately cut to the elder Zidane, who was captured sporting a cold expression of pure disappointment.
The clip of the soccer icon’s ruthless ‘death stare’ instantly went viral on social media, racking up over half a million views within hours of the final whistle.
A user shared the clip on X, jokingly comparing Zidane’s harsh look to a disappointed parent reviewing a poor report card.

Lionel Messi made World Cup history with a hat-trick in Argentina’s 3-0 win over Algeria
The viral moment capped off a miserable night for the Algerian squad, who had no answers for Messi’s brilliance as Argentina cruised forward in the tournament.
The masterclass marked another milestone for Messi, who became the oldest player to score a World Cup hat-trick while extending his all-time tournament goal record.
His clinical display completely dismantled the Algerian backline, proving that the veteran playmaker remains one of the most lethal forces on the international stage.
The Argentinian broke down in tears after curling home a stunning strike to open the scoring just 17 minutes into the match.
Opening up on the reason for his emotions postgame, he said: ‘No, honestly it’s something completely unrelated to sports. It’s been a few difficult days, complicated.’
Just hours later, journalist Eduardo Feinmann explained the reason for the tears in an interview on Radio Mitre, one of the country’s most listened-to stations.
‘This has to do with his father. His father is not in good health,’ he said. ‘For quite some time now, several months, since last year.
‘And this week there were some situations that slightly worsened his health, and Messi is going through this internal struggle. In other words, like any human being.’
It has been reported that Jorge suffered a ‘medical episode’ at his home in January of this year, and he was hospitalized as a result.
