Former world semi-finalist Andy Jenkins has been slapped with an 11-year ban from darts for match-fixing.
The 54-year-old was found guilty of fixing 12 matches between February 2022 and July 2023.
Jenkins, who reached the last four of the PDC World Championship in 2007 and lost to eventual winner Raymond van Barneveld, also admitted placing 88 bets on matches.
The Englishman’s ban has been backdated to November 2023, when he was initially suspended, and will prevent him from playing until November 2034.
Jenkins, who has won 15 career titles, has also been fined £17,580 and has until May 6 to appeal against the decision made by a Darts Regulation Authority disciplinary committee.
‘This case sends a strong and unequivocal message to all sportspeople – if you fix matches, you are likely to be caught and face serious consequences,’ said John Pierce, director of enforcement at the Gambling Commission.
