William Saliba promised Arsenal will fight on four fronts to turn a dominant first half of the season into silverware.

Mikel Arteta’s team are top of the Premier League, top of the Champions League and into the last four of the Carabao Cup.

Their FA Cup campaign starts at Portsmouth next month and Saliba says they have their sights set on more than one trophy as they turn into the business end of the season.

‘Yes, of course, we know that in every competition we play we know we can win it,’ said the France international defender when asked if Arsenal were daring to think of multiple titles.

‘We’ve been close in the Premier League in the past three seasons and last season we were in the semi-finals of the Champions League and the Carabao Cup.

‘We know that we can win every competition, but we have to show that on the pitch and we have to start winning trophies now.’

Arsenal have not won a major trophy since the FA Cup in 2020. None of those who started that game against Chelsea at Wembley remain at the club. Bukayo Saka was an unused substitute.

They have not won the league since 2004 but have finished as runners-up in the last three years and have not won in Europe since 1994 and never won the Champions League.

They have not won the Carabao Cup since 1993 but victory on penalties against Crystal Palace on Tuesday sets up a two-legged semi against Chelsea, starting next month.

There are 11 games in 36 days for Mikel Arteta to negotiate before the end of January, starting with Brighton on Saturday.

‘If we have a lot of games, it means we are doing a good job,’ added Saliba.

‘We’re in every competition and every competition we want to win. We have to keep going. We know we are close. We have to learn the lesson from last season.

‘The mood is good, but we know we are still in December and things can happen quickly in football.

‘We have to stay focused and believe in ourselves. Keep working because what matters is at the end when we are holding the trophies and not before. At the end of your career we count our trophies.’
