A wife made a chilling remark to police after murdering her husband of 27 years with a vegetable knife in their Greater Manchester home.
Daryl Berman, 72, of Butterstile Lane, Prestwich, Bury, told authorities that the stab wound that David Berman, 84, sustained was as a result of him falling on a knife after a stumble into the kitchen.
Pathologists concluded the chest wound was not an accident but was due to an inflicted injury, Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court heard.
Police bodycam footage from the scene shows Daryl Berman asking: “‘Why am I so calm?”
A jury convicted Daryl Berman of murder. She has been handed a life sentence with a minimum of 12 years.
