The Hundred continues on Wednesday with Southern Brave coming up against Welsh Fire in the men’s and women’s competitions in Southampton.

Stage 17 of the Tour de France also gets under way and there is further action in the World Matchplay Darts.

Here is where you can watch some of the sporting events taking place on Wednesday.

Hundred double-header

The Hundred continues on Wednesday with a double header between Southern Brave and Welsh Fire at the Utilita Bowl, Southampton.

Southern Brave were runners-up in last year’s women’s competition and will take on Welsh Fire at 2.45pm.

That clash is followed by a meeting of the men’s teams at 6.30pm and both games are available on BBC Two from 2.15pm and Sky Sports Cricket and Sky Sports Main Event from 2.30pm.

Tour de France continues

Stage 17 of the Tour de France gets under way with the race for the yellow jersey in its final week.

Wednesday’s stage is a flat route beginning in Chambery and travelling 174.7 kilometres before finishing in Voiron.

All the coverage of the event is on TNT Sports 1 from midday.

What else is happening on Wednesday?

The World Matchplay Darts continues on Wednesday as the competition begins to take shape.

The final batch of last-16 matches will take place in Blackpool and Sky Sports Action will show the event from 7pm, with coverage also on Sky Sports Main Event from 9.30pm.

There is also plenty of Major League Baseball action happening on Wednesday evening, with the New York Yankees going up against the Pittsburgh Pirates, which will be shown on TNT Sports 1 at 6.30pm.

That game is followed by the Seattle Mariners’ clash with the Cincinnati Reds on TNT Sports 2 at 8.30pm and TNT Sports 1 at 9.30pm.

2010: Sri Lanka spinner Muttiah Muralitharan marked his farewell appearance by becoming the first bowler in cricket history to take 800 Test wickets when he dismissed India’s Pragyan Ojha, his eighth scalp of the match.

2012: Bradley Wiggins won the Tour de France, becoming the first British man to do so in the 99th edition of the event.

2018: Francesco Molinari became the first Italian to win a golf major after lifting the Open title at Carnoustie.
