Westgate Sindjelic paid a touching tribute to a junior player who passed away recently.
Fans turned out en masse holding candles in memory of the late Vuk Stojic ahead of their game on Friday night.
Along with the candles, a tifo was unveiled in one stand behind the goal containing an illustration of Stojic.
The match was also paused in the 16th minute to recognise the former Westgate player.
Along with the on-pitch tribute for their former player, Westgate Sindjelic also posted a video on social media of the speech made in honour of Stojic
In the video, a friend of Stojic, told those at the game about how much the club meant to him and the role it played in his life growing up.

‘Good evening all, for those that don’t know me, I’m Alexa, one of Vuk’s best mates and part of what we call Bozza’s boys,’ a voice over the pa system said.
‘A group of us grew up together at this club, through school and through life, Vuk wasn’t just part of the group he was the heart of it.
‘We asked the community to come down tonight not just for a game of football but to honour someone who meant so much to all of us.
‘This pitch, this club, its where Vuk grew up, its where he followed his uncle’s footsteps and found a place where he truly felt at home.
‘This is also where his family stood on the sidelines, all watching him. supporting him proud of him every step of the way.
‘Westgate wasn’t just where he played, it was part of who he was.
‘Vuk had a way of bringing people together whether that was on the field, in the rooms or just being around his mates, he made everything better.
‘You can see that today, the turnout the support, that’s the reflection of the kind of person he was.
‘We will carry him with us in everything we do, every game, every life, every moment. We love you brother, this one’s for you.’
In a post on Facebook, the club added, ‘On behalf of the Westgate Sindjelic Committee, we would like to thank the wider community and fans who attended Friday night’s game for their incredible support.
‘A special thank you to the Stojic and Medjedovic families, who joined us on the night to honour the memory of their beloved son and nephew Vuk.
‘We also thank Bozzas Boys for organising such a memorable and meaningful evening, and Sydenham Park SC along with the FFV for their cooperation in pausing the match in the 16th minute.’
They were joined by a number of clubs including Springvale White Eagles who wrote, ‘The Springvale White Eagles are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of young Vuk Stojic.
‘On behalf of the committee, players, and the entire club community, we extend our most heartfelt condolences to the Stojic family during this incredibly difficult time.
‘For anyone who is able and would like to support the Stojic family during this difficult time.’
