If your business offers innovation that can deliver real‑world emissions reductions in developing countries, and can be scaled and commercialised, this is a unique opportunity.

The call is issued under the Accelerate‑to‑Demonstrate (A2D) Facility and is an invitation to submit full written grant proposals for large‑scale demonstration projects that are ready to be implemented and brought to market.

The current call for proposals, open until 18 June 2026, focuses on practical use cases across clean energy and industrial decarbonisation, including

Critical minerals

Low‑carbon solutions to recover and recycle critical minerals from waste streams; decarbonising existing infrastructure for processing, refining and transport; and innovative supply‑chain optimisation and industrial symbiosis solutions that enable deep decarbonisation.

Smart energy

Digital solutions that enable cleaner power systems, such as renewable energy integration, smart grids and micro‑grids; advanced energy‑storage systems and digital solutions for electric mobility, including smart charging networks, vehicle‑to‑grid technologies, innovative fleet management, AI‑enabled energy services and blockchain‑based solutions.

Industrial decarbonisation

Technologies that reduce emissions from industry, including fuel‑source decarbonisation and innovative carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) solutions for manufacturing, processing and heavy industry.

Clean hydrogen

Innovative clean hydrogen solutions, including advanced electrolysis technologies, catalyst development and improved system design to boost efficiency and reduce costs.

More information and applications

Delivered by UNIDO and funded by the UK Government’s Ayrton Fund, the A2D Facility offers grants from $1–5 million, with a 2.5 to 4‑year implementation phase, to support projects that demonstrate proven technologies at industrial scale. A2D does not support projects at the planning stage, research and development, or early‑stage pilot testing. All supported activities must be completed no later than 14 December 2030.

The deadline for submissions is 3pm UK time on 18 June 2026.

Full eligibility criteria, funding windows and application guidance are available via UNIDO’s Procurement Portal.
