Three minors were injured on Wednesday after an “active assailant” at Evergreen High School in Jefferson County, Colorado, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to The Independent.
The three victims are in critical condition and being transported to St. Anthony Hospital, a hospital spokesperson confirmed to ABC News.
The shooting suspect was engaged and neutralized, officals confirmed to the outlet.
The campus remains on lockdown as it is still considered an active scene, and officials are currently conducting a thorough sweep of the area.
A parent-student reunification location is set up at Bergen Meadow Elementary School at 1928 Hiwan Drive, county emergency officials said on social media. A media staging area will be at the Evergreen Lakehouse.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives are also responding to the scene.
Jefferson County is also where the Columbine school shooting occurred in 1999.
