Two men have been arrested after two bullets holes were found in the front door of a residential property, following a disturbance in the early hours of the morning.
South Wales Police said it was called to the property on Maesglas in Pyle, Bridgend, just before 04:00 BST on 22 September.
Two men, aged 20 and 39, who are from the Bryntirion area of the town, have been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
The force said the pair are currently in police custody where they will be questioned further.
An investigation into a potential shooting was launched last week, after a resident heard a loud bang at their house and subsquently found damage to the glass panel of their front door.
South Wales Police officers discovered what appeared to be two bullets at the scene, the force said, adding the occupants were not injured.
Officers carried out door-to-door enquires on Maesglas and neighbouring streets, with the door to the property subsequently boarded up.
One neighbour, who wished to remain anonymous, expressed surprise at the incident, describing the neighbourhood as a “peaceful area” and the residents of the house as “lovely”, but conceded the damage to the door “did look like bullets holes”.
South Wales Police has thanked the local communities of Brynitirion and Pyle for their cooperation during the ongoing investigation.
