President Donald Trump now has his name on yet another massive, expensive project, but this time the U.S. courts can’t take it away from him.

On Saturday, the president thanked Morocco’s King Mohammed VI for naming a 655-mile highway running along the nation’s eastern coast and into the contested Western Sahara in his honor.

“Thank you to Highly Respected Mohammed VI, the King of Morocco — Such a Great Honor! I look forward to traveling the entire length of this Great Highway someday, hopefully soon!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

The road is the the “President Donald J Trump Highway,” which connects Tiznit in Morocco with Dakhla, a city in a contested region of the Western Sahara.

Morocco released a glossy video hyping the highway — which runs through desert landscape, cities, and along the Atlantic coast of Africa — noting that it was only possible through the “visionary leadership” of its king and the “historic courage of President Donald J Trump.”

Despite its name being an obvious bit of glad-handing toward the president, the highway does appear to be a significant infrastructure project that will provide a smooth overland shipping route from Dahkla — where a major port will finish construction in 2028 — to Morocco proper. The north African nation is some 3,800 miles from Washington, D.C.

Trump has made clear since he returned to office in 2025 that he wants his name on as many impressive buildings and projects as possible, and King Mohammed isn’t the only one to notice.

Palm Beach airport was renamed “President Donald J Trump International Airport” in July. His allies in Congress have tossed around trying to rename Dulles International Airport in Virginia after him. Ditto for Penn Station in New York City.

Lawmakers in Oklahoma named a section of U.S. Route 287 after him. A courthouse in Lyon County, Nevada is named after him. Palm Avenue in Hialeah, Florida, was renamed in his honor, as were sections of Florida State Road 80 and U.S. Route 98 in Palm Beach County.

More are planned. A bridge in Tennessee in Jefferson County is planned to carry his name, as will a highway in South Carolina.

Americans who recently obtained passports or National Park passes may see Trump’s likeness staring back at them when they produce the IDs. Visitors to Washington, D.C. are likely to see Trump gazing down at them from banners outside the Department of Justice and the Department of the Interior. Americans who want to get discounts on prescription drugs must use “TrumpRx.gov” to do so, and one day U.S. Air Force pilots might fly the F-47, a jet that Trump — the 47th president — announced was in production in March 2025.

When Trump fired the Kennedy Center’s board and replaced them with a hand-picked gallery of loyalists, one of their first actions was to add his name to the center, though a recent court ruling determined his doing so was illegal and forced his moniker off the venue’s exterior wall.

Trump’s name is now on the U.S. Institute of Peace, and will eventually be included in the official name for the ballroom he’s building at the White House. He’s also made clear he wants the new Washington Commanders stadium built in D.C. to be named in his honor.

As though a stadium wasn’t enough, Trump has even mused about having his face added to Mount Rushmore, though no serious effort to make it happen has materialized.
