A North Carolina man has put out a plea for help after his wife disappeared during her vacation in Grenada.

Elizabeth “Liz” Waddell has not been seen since Wednesday, July 22 at the Grand Anse Beach in St George’s, Grenada, according to the Royal Grenada Police Force.

Cailen Waddell, her husband, shared a Facebook post saying he is traveling to the Caribbean island and asking for anyone with contacts in Grenada to share them with him, according to People.

“I am on my way there now to help search,” he wrote. “I expect nothing less than Liz’s safe return — so please sent your love, light, thoughts and prayers our way.”

He added that if anyone has “connections to the island —can you please share the following with your contacts there?”

It’s currently not clear if Waddell was alone or traveling with friends on her vacation.

The Waddells are from Cary, North Carolina.

A missing person’s flier describes her as 44 -years-old, with a medium build, 5’5, and short blonde hair.

The Royal Grenada Police Force has requested help from the public to locate her.

“We specially appeal to fishermen, boat operators, and residents along the southern coastline to report any sightings or relevant information that may assist in locating Ms. Waddell,” the report says.

Amanda Romano-Harmon, one of Waddell’s friends, told WTVD that she is an “amazing person, and we want to bring her home.”

She said her friend was a free-spirited, adventurous, and gregarious person.

“She’ll see kids playing in the park as she’s walking or exercising or whatever, and she’ll start kicking the ball with them. Everybody’s a friend for Liz,” Romano-Harmon said.

According to Romano-Harmon, Waddell went for a swim sometime before she disappeared and never recovered her towel.

“It seems that she went down to the pier and left her towel on the pier and went for a swim,” she told the broadcaster.

She asked that anyone with information about Waddell reach out.

“If you have any, any information, no detail is too small. We are trying not to leave any stone unturned,” she said.

The U.S. State Department told ABC News that it is aware of Waddell’s disappearance.

“The Trump Administration has no higher priority than the safety and security of Americans. We are aware of reports of a missing American in Grenada. When Americans are missing abroad, the State Department can assist families and friends with filing missing persons reports and can help them understand local procedures. We would refer to local law enforcement in Grenada questions regarding any potential investigation. Due to privacy and other considerations, we have no further comment.”
