Travis Kelce has seemingly denied reports he donated $3.3million to charity to transform a house in Kansas City into a living facility for young homeless people.
Reports last month claimed Kelce had joined forces with charity Foster Love to create a 6,5000-square foot property with six bedrooms, five bathrooms and various amenities like a game room and study area.
The story spread online and was picked up by several prominent media outlets and social media accounts. Pat McAfee even praised Kelce for the gesture on his ESPN show.
However, speaking on the latest episode of New Heights, Kelce seemingly denied there was any truth to the tale.
The Kansas City Chiefs star said: ‘I gotta make a little statement in the “don’t believe everything you read kids category”. A nice realm that you see online.
‘Some false claims were thrown out there that I was doing something in the community that I was not.

Pat McAfee praised ‘good human’ Kelce for his $3.3million charity donation last week
‘I’m not even going to talk about it specifically. I don’t want to bring any more attention to that whole nonsense and article and all that stuff.
‘But if you ever want to know exactly what I’m doing in the community, just go to 87 and Running. We’re always trying to get out there and get in the Kansas City communities and the Cleveland community.
‘But you know, this time, I wasn’t doing what was falsely claimed by the social channels or all the outlets posting this AI stuff so I just wanted to set the record straight.
‘Appreciate everybody for always trying to show love, especially Pat McAfee. He’s always trying to look out for the guys and women in the sports world.’
Kelce does charity work through his 87 & Running foundation – founded in 2015 -which aims to work with underserved youth with support through resources and mentorship.
Reacting to the donation last week, McAfee pridefully spoke about the generosity his friend had demonstrated.
McAfee noted that Travis Kelce often receives negative attention because of his relationship with Taylor Swift
‘I love this type of stuff,’ he began on his ESPN show. ‘Obviously a lot of negative gets covered around the NFL and professional athletics… Obviously the conversation around Travis Kelce is that he is a GOAT at the tight end position, obviously very successful at football.
‘But there are people that just naturally hate him because he’s very popular, very famous. Especially now because he’s dating the most popular and famous person in the world in Taylor Swift. So him giving back, making the world a better place, I think should be chatted about.
McAfee added that Kelce could have put the money towards another house or his family, but ‘instead, wanted to give it back to society.
‘And to that I say, atta’ baby Trav.’
