It’s that time of the year again – the transfer window is now open until September 1 and it’s sure to be a busy period with clubs looking to make big signings ahead of next season. Here are today’s latest developments from Simon Jones and the Daily Mail Sport team…
Nottingham Forest chase Tottenham star
Nottingham Forest are among the clubs showing interest in Tottenham midfielder Lucas Bergvall after he indicated he wishes to leave the club.
The 20-year-old believes he will get fewer first team opportunities under Roberto de Zerbi who is pushing for the club to bring in two new midfielders.
Aston Villa and Chelsea made enquiries for Bergvall in January but the latter are looking at other options. Bayern Munich have also been monitoring developments.
Spurs signed Bergvall ahead of Barcelona but De Zerbi wants experience to guide Spurs more quickly to the next level after two seasons of relegation form.
A £75m bid for Sandro Tonali was rejected last week by Newcastle, and as yet no new bid received. They have also opened talks for Manchester United target Mateus Fernandes at West Ham and could yet bring back Joao Palhinha.
Bergvall only played 112 minutes of football under De Zerbi, starting one of the Italian’s six games in charge and featuring mainly as a substitute.

Brighton launch fresh bid for Vuskovic
Spurs’ young defender Luka Vušković, 19, also believes he can play more regularly elsewhere and has been the subject of three bids from Brighton, the latest £42m plus £3m in add-ons.
Brighton are also closing on Austria defender Michael Svoboda from Venezia in a £4.8m deal.

Forest eye-up Anderson replacement
Forest are exploring the market for midfielders as they are in the throes of selling Elliot Anderson to Manchester City for a British record fee.
They have also discussed Inter Milan’s Davide Frattesi and Arne Engels at Celtic after making bids in January.
Former Liverpool star closes in on Derby move
RB Salzburg midfielder Bobby Clark is expected to undergo a medical today ahead of his £6million move to Derby County.
The deal will add just over £1m to Liverpool’s coffers as they have a 17.5per cent sell on clause.
Clark, who also had interest from Celtic, made an impact on loan at Derby last season.
He scored three goals and his form was such that he was nominated for the EFL Young Player of the Season award.

Middlesbrough and Southampton eye up Mulligan
Middlesbrough and Southampton are keen on Hibernian midfielder Josh Mulligan.
Boro are exploring options as they continue discussions with Everton for Hayden Hackney.
Southampton similarly want a midfielder as Leeds United pursue their Northern Ireland international Shea Charles.
Mulligan, 23, had a stand-out season at Hibs prior to an ankle injury but is fit again. He is also on West Ham’s radar as they anticipate a number of midfield exits.
