Additional details behind Tom Hardy’s supposed firing from Mobland are coming to light, including claims about his on-set tardiness.

News broke last week that Hardy, 48, was axed from the British crime drama after wrapping production on season two, with several outlets reporting the decision stemmed from repeated clashes with producers and others behind the scenes.

The Inception star led the first two seasons of the Paramount+ crime drama as Harry Da Souza, alongside an all-star cast of Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren. However, Hardy reportedly has not been asked back for a potential third season of Mobland, due in part to his on-set behavior.

According to an unnamed source who spoke to The Hollywood Reporter, the British actor “refused to come out of his trailer for hours at a time.”

“He kept the cast waiting, [which is] a power play,” they claimed. “Keeping Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren and others waiting is career suicide, I would wager.”

The Independent has contacted representatives for Brosnan, Mirren, Hardy and Paramount for comment.

The new claims seem to corroborate earlier reports by Puck News that Hardy was regularly late to set. The outlet also claimed that he “constantly asked to give notes on scripts,” while reportedly being displeased with the increased focus on his co-stars.

Mobland debuted in 2025 and follows two rival mob families as they battle to protect their own empires.

The series has already wrapped season two, which is set to premiere in the coming months. While a third season hasn’t officially been confirmed, it’s almost a guarantee given the show’s massive success.

It has become the second most-watched original program on Paramount+, just behind Taylor Sheridan’s Landman.

This wouldn’t be the first time Hardy has clashed with co-stars. He and Charlize Theron infamously feuded on the set of Mad Max: Fury Road.

The two actors starred in the 2015 post-apocalyptic drama together and were known to have not gotten on, with Theron admitting that the pair “f***in’ went at it” during filming.

In Kyle Buchanan’s 2022 book, Blood, Sweat, and Chrome: The Wild and True Story of Mad Max: Fury Road, the film’s camera operator, Mark Goellnicht, recalled that the boiling point came when Hardy arrived to set three hours late, despite knowing that Theron had arrived early.

Once he arrived, Theron repeatedly swore at the actor, which prompted him to “charge up to her,” Goellnicht claimed, adding that Theron had shouted: “Fine the f***ing c*** a hundred thousand dollars for every minute that he’s held up this crew.”

Hardy addressed his tense relationship with Theron, telling Buchanan in 2020: “I think in hindsight, I was in over my head in many ways. The pressure on both of us was overwhelming at times.

“What she needed was a better, perhaps more experienced, partner in me. That’s something that can’t be faked. I’d like to think that now that I’m older and uglier, I could rise to that occasion.”
