Before flying back home to celebrate a second World Cup title with their compatriots, the Spanish national team needed just one more New York area treat in their system.

Spain’s victory over Argentina in the 2026 World Cup Final in New Jersey was cause for a party at the team hotel.

So, the team ordered dozens upon dozens of pizzas from a nearby restaurant to feed the hungry and happy players and coaches.

The staff phoned up the West Orange restaurant ‘Bagels by Jarrett’ moments after securing their victory and a second star.

‘Spain got buffalo chicken, pepperoni and margherita pizza last night. And some gluten free pies as well,’ restaurant owner Jarrett Seltzer told ABC New York.

Video from the restaurant’s social media showed the moment a delivery driver arrived with 46 pies for La Roja.

In order to transport them all properly, they loaded them onto a luggage dolly to wheel them in.

‘I heard it was all gone so I’ll take that,’ Seltzer said.

Seltzer’s restaurant previously fed Erling Haaland and the Norway national team when they came through the city.

Celebrations began long before arriving at the team hotel as Golden Ball winner Rodri led a round of singing on the team bus.

Back at the hotel, noted oenophile Marcos Llorente enjoyed a bottle of Chateau Rayas Chateauneuf-du-Pape Reserve 2014 – which costs a festive £1,009 to uncork – in his room with team-mates Ferran Torres and Marc Pubil.

The stars then boarded an Airbus A350-941 waiting for them at Newark Liberty International Airport – clad in their team’s livery – and took off shortly after 2am local time.

Spain’s players landed at Madrid’s Barajas Airport at 2.30pm local time, and stepped out onto the tarmac with the World Cup trophy held aloft.

They then paraded through the city as throngs of Spaniards celebrated their nation’s second men’s World Cup title.
