- Adelaide Crows star Luke Nankervis was suffering from lockjaw
Vision of footy star Luke Nankervis suffering from lockjaw while waiting to be seen in a hospital has gone viral on social media.
Adelaide Crows teammate Josh Rachele posted a TikTok clip titled ‘POV: your friend gets locked jaw at 12am’, showing Nankervis struggling.
The clip was uploaded on Wednesday and has already had more than 100,000 views.
Many of Rachele’s followers were keen to find out how Nankervis fell victim to the condition.
One suggested the ‘pasta was a little too al dente’, with another asking: ‘Did his jaw get stuck like that after watching Brayden Cook on Friday night?’
That was a reference to Adelaide taking out Showdown 59 against Port Adelaide thanks to Cook kicking the winning goal just before full-time.

The young gun even managed to laugh while Rachele filmed.
According to the Cleveland Clinic, lockjaw – commonly known as tetanus – is a serious condition that causes muscles to seize up and spasm uncontrollably.
Once inside the body, bacteria create a toxin that severely disrupts the nervous system, which can be life-threatening.
Symptoms include difficulty swallowing or breathing, as well as drooling.
Nankervis and the Crows next take on the Richmond Tigers at the MCG on May 10.
