After looking at prices across all supermarkets, I’ve discovered that Aldi is offering the most affordable strawberries at just 99p per punnet (227g). Following just behind, you can get strawberries at Lidl (250g), Morrisons (227g) and Asda (227g) for £1.19.
Shoppers at Sainsbury’s, your cheapest punnet is £2.10 (250g), while you can get 300g at M&S for the same price. Meanwhile Waitrose’s wonderfully wonky British strawberries are the supermarket’s cheapest option at £2 (250g).
When are strawberries in season?
In the UK, strawberries are typically in season from May or early June to late August. The length of the season can be affected by the weather.
How much are strawberries and cream at Wimbledon?
The iconic spectator snack at the championships costs £2.85 this year. This has risen from last year, where it was priced at £2.70. According to the BBC, Wimbledon sell 140,000 portions each year.
