Some of the biggest names are helping redefine what a modern wedding can look like.

Most recently, Charli XCX married George Daniel, drummer for The 1975, in a low-key ceremony at Hackney Town Hall in London. Rather than opting for an extravagant celebrity wedding with hundreds of guests and endless media attention, the couple chose an intimate registry office ceremony surrounded by close family and friends. Charliwore a simple white mini dress paired with a long veil, embracing a chic, understated bridal look that quickly gained attention across social media. Their wedding proved that even global music stars are embracing smaller celebrations that focus on the moment rather than the spectacle.

Another couple embracing the trend are Love Island: All Stars winners Molly Smith and Tom Clare, who recently surprised fans by legally marrying in an intimate courthouse ceremony before their upcoming destination wedding in Mallorca. Instead of waiting for their celebrations abroad, the couple chose to make things official in a simple registry office ceremony surrounded by their nearest and dearest. Molly wore a stylish white mini dress with a pillbox hat, while Tom opted for a timeless black suit. Their wedding photos quickly went viral, with many fans praising the elegant yet understated approach. It perfectly reflects a growing trend among modern couples who are separating the legal ceremony from the larger celebration, allowing them to enjoy both an intimate moment and a destination wedding with loved ones.

Meanwhile, Dua Lipa and Callum Turner also embraced the growing trend of intimate legal ceremonies, tying the knot at Old Marylebone Town Hall in London before celebrating with a larger wedding in Sicily. The couple kept their civil ceremony small and personal, surrounded by just a handful of close family and friends. Dua wore a striking white Schiaparelli skirt suit, complete with a wide-brimmed hat and gloves, putting a modern twist on traditional bridal style, while Callum opted for a classic navy suit.

These celebrity weddings and engagements show that there is no longer one definition of the “perfect wedding”. Whether you’re famous or not, couples are increasingly choosing what feels right for them rather than what tradition expects.
