Grants to support music creation, recording, live performances and more
Applications are now open for the Open Fund for Music Creators, offering grants of up to £5,000 to UK-based music creators at different career stages.
The fund, managed by PRS Foundation, supports the creation, performance, and promotion of outstanding new music across all genres. It helps songwriters, composers, artists, bands, producers, and performers involved in writing or composing to develop their skills and reach wider audiences.
Eligible applicants must be
- UK-based
- aged 18 or over
- with at least 18 months’ experience
- not signed to a major label
- not in full-time education (unless exceptions apply)
They must also either be a member of PRS (Performing Right Society) or in a position to join.
The fund covers costs such as music creation, recording, touring and live performances, residencies, collaborator fees, and promotion linked to creation or performance. Capital projects, retrospective activities, bursaries, tuition or scholarships, or projects that contain no element of live performance or creation, cannot be funded.
The Open Fund for Music Creators has three deadlines each year. Applicants can apply once per calendar year.
The next deadline for applications is 29 September 2025.
