By Shane McGrath

Jack Livingstone 8

UNDER intense pressure on kick-outs in the first half, but kept his composure and was solid under a couple of dropping balls too.

Jack Coyne 9

HIS speech was one for the ages, but his display was a match for it as he returned to his best form.

Donnacha McHugh 7

HE had the most thankless job in Irish sport, and David Clifford scored 1-6 from play, but McHugh stood strong and refused to bend.

Eoin McGreal 8

DID a superb job on Paudie Clifford in the first half, but the Kingdom playmaker became more influential in the second half.

Sam Callinan 9

PUSHED up on Gavin White but he was comfortable in that rarefied air. He was mobile and aggressive in a merciless Mayo press.

David McBrien 8

ONE of his finest outings for Mayo, opening the scoring when his team were under the cosh. But his command of the middle was exemplary.

Enda Hession 9

THE amount of ground he covered and tackles he made were both astonishing. Has been a leader of this team but hit new levels yesterday.

Bob Tuohy 7

STRUGGLED to get into the game in the first half but he was excellent in the second especially on Kerry kickouts.

Jack Carney 8

CAME of age on a remarkable day, hitting two two-pointers but showing a level of composure under often intense pressure.

Diarmuid O’Connor 7

ANOTHER who made run after run between the two 45s, and had a strong second half. Emptied himself by the time he was replaced.

Paul Towey 7

HE was lively in a nervy Mayo start, carrying well and looking to put pressure on the Kerry zonal defence.

Jordan Flynn 9

A COUPLE of ill-advised long-range point attempts were the only blot on a terrific showing. A vital kick-out option early on.

Darragh Beirne 9

STUNNING effort from the 19-year-old, scored his goal with nerveless class and took to the biggest test of his career with no difficulty.

Ryan O’Donoghue 10

NOTHING will ever match the Celtic Cross, but he’ll be footballer of the year after this. One of the great final performances.

Kobe McDonald 8

IF this is how his Mayo career ends, it’s in keeping with a scintillating year. Made some mistakes, but showed resilience and coolness right to the end.

Replacements 8

TOMMY CONROY was an early arrival and was lively, and had the honour of the final score, too. Matthew Ruane brought energy, Rory Brickenden made one vital turnover, and Conor Loftus brought ball-playing comfort and experience at just the right time.

Manager 10

WHATEVER happens next, Andy Moran’s name is written in history, his legend imperishable in Mayo football.

From the Roscommon defeat to here is a scarcely believable journey, but he backed his tactics and his players, and his confidence was well-founded.
