Organisations can register their interest to access funding for projects across the North West and North Coast.

The Honourable Irish Society has supported communities in the North West and North Coast for more than 400 years. Its approach focuses on delivering long-term, meaningful change through targeted grant funding.

Grants are designed to help organisations deliver projects that strengthen communities, improve local life and support inclusive growth.

Grant priority areas

The Society delivers funding through focused programmes that reflect clear thematic priorities.

These programmes include

  • growing together – early years provision
  • living rivers, living communities – waterways and environmental stewardship
  • living heritage, shared futures – culture, heritage and reconciliation

Each programme supports initiatives that contribute to sustainable, resilient and connected communities.

Types of projects supported

Projects are expected to demonstrate clear value and alignment with programme goals.

Suitable projects typically

  • respond to identified community need
  • demonstrate clear purpose and measurable impact
  • bring people together or strengthen community connections
  • align with one of the defined programme areas

Organisational eligibility criteria

Applications are expected from not-for-profit or community-based organisations with appropriate governance structures.

Eligible organisations should be able to provide

  • a constitution or governing document
  • basic financial information
  • evidence of community focus and organisational accountability

Register your interest in applying for the Honourable Irish Society grants.
