Paul McCartney was one of the artists who serenaded guests at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding, with the special song he performed now revealed.
The Beatles legend was interviewed by Swift for a Rolling Stones cover story in 2020, and she recently praised his new album, The Boys of Dungeon Lane, in an Instagram post.
Hailing McCartney as an “eternally exceptional artist”, she said she was “never not inspired” by him.
Ahead of the huge celebration at Madison Square Garden, it was rumoured that McCartney would be performing along with Stevie Nicks and Bon Jovi.
People now reports that McCartney did indeed sing at the reception, and that the song in question was the Beatles’ 1963 hit “I Want to Hold Your Hand”.
An unnamed source told the publication that Swift’s mother Andrew invited everyone into the reception room after the ceremony, where a stage was set up.

Nicks, who has been a friend and mentor to Swift for years, also performed, the source said.
Meanwhile, McCartney and Swift have regularly shown up for one another. He attended one of her sold-out Eras Tour concerts at Wembley Stadium in June 2024, being gifted friendship bracelets by fans on his way in.
Swift then attended McCartney’s intimate concert at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles on 28 March, ahead of the release of The Boys of Dungeon Lane.

Her nuptials to Kelce are already being hailed as the “wedding of the decade”, with a staggering guestlist of 1,000 of their family members and celebrity friends.
Following the ceremony at Madison Square Garden, signs outside the venue displayed the message “JusT&T Married”, referencing the couple’s initials.

And despite heavy security and rumours that guests were asked to sign NDAs ahead of the ceremony, some details are emerging after the event.
This includes an apparent wedding favour for guests: a lace handkerchief embroidered with the couple’s initials intertwined with two hearts, their wedding date and New York City location, and a lyric from Swift’s hit 2014 single “Blank Space” that said: “So it’s gonna be forever…”
Swift’s representative also shared a statement to The Independent shortly after the ceremony took place, confirming that her brother Austin was her “man of honour” and that she chose not to have a bridal party.
Similarly, Kelce chose his brother Jason as his best man and had no other groomsmen, while the ceremony was officiated by comedian and actor Adam Sandler.
The representative also revealed that both Swift and Kelce’s wedding looks were created by Christian Dior Haute Couture, designed by its creative director Jonathan Anderson “in close collaboration with the bride and groom”.
“This is the designer’s first couture wedding dress for a world-renowned celebrity. Their shoes were custom-made by Christian Louboutin and the bride wore Cartier jewelry,” Swift’s representative told The Independent.
