The ‘Labubu’ craze has infiltrated college football.
The popular line of plush toys have surprisingly become a pop culture staple in 2025, with the fuzzy creatures with a sharp-tooth grin being seen among children, social media influencers, and even tennis star Naomi Osaka.
Now, the fuzzy mascots of the college football world have decided to transform themselves into larger versions of the popular toys.
On Saturday, the University of Oregon was hosting Oklahoma State University when their mascot – Puddles (also simply known as The Oregon Duck) – came out in different attire than normal.
Rather than the duck’s traditional green-and-yellow shirt and beanie cap, the Duck instead came out dressed like a Labubu.
The Duck’s eyes, bill, and webbed feet were kept the same. But instead, they were planted on the body of a life-sized monster with beige fur and ears. Additionally, the bill was adorned with the toy’s trademark teeth.

A number of fans expressed their distaste for the change in costume, with one user on X calling it ‘Nightmare fuel’.
‘Oregon Duck is another level of mascot, this is amazing but terrifying haha,’ said another poster.
Another post said, ‘This looks like the duck cosplaying as a furry’.
There were also plenty of people praising the Duck for the new costume, with many saying that this was another reason why ‘College football is the best’.
Oregon blasted Oklahoma State 69-3 to move to 2-0 on the season. The No. 4 ranked Ducks will travel to the Midwest to take on Northwestern in their first Big Ten matchup of the year.
