Less than a year after hanging up her racket, Eugenie Bouchard has already landed herself a new job.

The former tennis star stunned fans when she announced her retirement in July 2025, bringing the curtain down on her career at the National Bank Open in Montreal.

Since then, the 32-year-old had been enjoying the retired life and shared pictures of her escapades – including a Caribbean vacation back in December – with fans online.

However, it appears the Canadian is ready to leave that behind and go back to tennis after she took on her first broadcasting role at the Indian Wells Open this week.

Bouchard took to Instagram to reveal a behind-the-scenes look at her day on the job, marking a new career in the analyst booth and away from the court.

The former world No. 5 has officially joined the Tennis Channel as a pundit for the BNP Paribas Open, which runs through March 15.

In one photo, Bouchard sat holding a microphone, while another showed her interviewing 24-year-old German star Eva Lys.

‘Risky of them to give me a mic,’ the Canadian joked in her caption, sharing a carousel of images from her debut.

While this marks her first major role since retiring, Bouchard is no stranger to the screen, having served as a studio analyst in 2021 while recovering from surgery.

Her return to the spotlight comes just weeks after she celebrated her 32nd birthday with a martini-themed bash in New York’s West Village.

Bouchard’s professional journey came to an emotional end last summer when she fell in a hard-fought three-set match against Belinda Bencic.

She had specifically chosen to play her final tournament in her hometown of Montreal, confirming the plan just weeks before the event.

The Canadian leaves behind a historic legacy, having become the first player from her country to ever reach a Grand Slam singles final in 2014.

During that breakout 2014 season, Bouchard reached a career-high world ranking of No. 5 and became a global household name.

She struggled to replicate that early success in later years, battling injuries that eventually led to her decision to step away at 31.

Now, the star is transitioning into a media career where her insights as a top-five player are expected to make her a fan favorite.
